La Misa 2026: Music, Culture, and Sustainability

LA MISA — A FESTIVAL COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY

Every generation has its unforgettable concerts and music festivals. These events, in addition to being a source of entertainment and social connection, must also be sustainable.

Sustainability is essential because all large-scale events generate a significant negative impact on both the environment and people. For this reason, we can and must work to reduce LA MISA’s carbon footprint and minimize its effects. Among the main negative impacts are:

  • Increased waste generation

  • High consumption of energy, water, and food

  • Emission of pollutants into the atmosphere

  • Noise and light pollution

  • Increased mobility, making it necessary to promote more sustainable transportation

  • Greater degradation of natural and urban environments

Aware of this reality, LA MISA has a sustainability plan that includes the calculation of its Scope 3 carbon footprint. This measurement allows us to identify the main sources of indirect impact and establish concrete actions for continuous improvement.

The objective is clear: with each edition, the carbon footprint generated by the festival should become progressively smaller.

TIPS FOR ENJOYING LA MISA IN A SUSTAINABLE WAY

To counteract the negative impact of festivals in general — and LA MISA in particular — we would like to share some guidelines. Thanks to the collaboration of professionals from different sectors and the joint work of promoters, organizers, sponsors, suppliers, and participants, we can continue improving these aspects together.

1. Choose Sustainable Festivals
Research the festival you are attending to ensure it follows sustainable practices. Review the festival’s environmental policies.

2. Reduce Plastic Use
Choose reusable products instead of single-use plastic items.

3. Consume Local Products
Support local farmers and businesses by consuming fruits, vegetables, and other KM 0 products, which help reduce carbon emissions.

4. Choose Vegan / Plant-Based Products
Avoid animal-based products whenever possible. This helps reduce your carbon footprint.

5. Use Water Responsibly
Use the water refill stations available at the event with your festival cup or reusable bottle.

6. Separate Your Waste and Help Compost
Dispose of your waste in recycling and compost containers. Follow the recycling guidelines to maximize efficiency.

7. Raise Awareness
Take part in the festival’s sustainability areas and initiatives, including activities related to sustainability, equality, integration, volunteering, and social programs.

8. Eco-Friendly Transport and Accommodation
Use bicycles, public transportation, or car sharing to reduce CO₂ emissions. Consider nearby accommodation options to reduce the need to travel.

9. Support Sustainable Fashion and Makeup Brands
For your outfit and makeup, choose brands that follow sustainable practices. Use biodegradable glitter and eco-friendly cosmetic products.

10. Respect the Space
Take care of the festival grounds and respect the surrounding environment.
